Pino Cao

Pino Cao (b. 1992) is a Mississauga-based artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and installation. Her background as a professional engineer, together with her training in animation, informs a visual language drawn from blueprints, technical diagrams, measurements, and sequential imagery.

Her work explores memory, time, childhood, and the subtle ways ordinary experiences shape a life. Through predominantly blue-and-white compositions, fragmented scenes, repeated figures, and precise graphic structures, she reconstructs personal memories and lived experiences as spaces where emotion and measurement coexist. By placing intimate, everyday moments within systems associated with accuracy and order, her practice considers the tension between what can be measured and recorded, and what remains subjective, incomplete, or impossible to fully define.
